Sandew Hira and Sitla Bonoo from IISR will visit South Africa from September 29 – October 2. They are visiting South Africa to get acquainted with the experiences of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission in the context of the project The tesimony of president Bouterse.

Sitla Bonoo has conducted extensive research on the experiences of ten countries into truth and reconciliation and has done the preparation of the mission. Sandew Hira will go into the details of the project about the tesimony.

During the visit Sandew Hira will give a lecture at the University of South Africa on the topic of Decolonizing The Mind.

 Sandew Hira  zal van maandag 29 september tot en vrijdag 2 oktober in Zuid Afrika zijn in het kader van een onderzoek naar de ervaringen van de Truth and Reconciliation Commission naar waarheidsvinding en gerechtigheid. IISR heeft onderzoek gedaan naar ervaringen van een tiental landen in de wereld met waarheidscommissies en heeft de missie inhoudelijk voorbereid. Sandew Hira zal een toelichting geven op het project De Getuigenis van president Bouterse.

Tijdens het bezoek zal Sandew Hira een lezing verzorgen voor de University of South Africa over Decolonizing The Mind.
